Abstract

Cancer is a disease caused by cells that multiply uncontrollably and autonomously, invading other tissues. The role of the Immune System in the treatment of cancer has been validated by numerous studies and clinical trials. Recent advances in immunological therapies have been shown to improve patient survival. The purpose of this article is to gather and review publications that analyze studies and clinical trials that in turn check if there is evidence that these therapies are working, either as a single treatment or combined with more traditional therapies (radiotherapy and chemotherapy); They also evaluate its toxicity and adverse effects.
