Abstract

Gender-based violence is considered a public health problem, causing a serious violation of human rights due to its frequency, severity and impact on the victim, the family and society. In recent years it has gone from belonging to the private sphere to being a phenomenon in the public sphere, it has stopped being seen as an individual problem and it has become a social problem, in which all society and its institutions must find a solution. This change is what has made domestic violence more visible and, therefore, object of study in different social and health areas, committing them to take measures to face them.
