This study was carried out at the Mostoles Universitary Hospital. The main objective of the study was to determine the level of knowledge in palliative care of nursing staff in different hospitalisation units, as well as to assess the usefulness of a mobile application (APP) as a working tool in the performance of care work for patients at the end of life.
Cross-sectional observational descriptive study. Data collection was obtained from the validated Spanish version of the PCQN questionnaire (Palliative Care Quiz for Nurses), an instrument to assess the level of nursing knowledge in palliative care (original English version by Ross, M.M, McDonald & McGuinnes 1996), the survey on the usefulness of PPP, demographic data, academic training and experience in palliative care; data will be collected through an ad hoc questionnaire developed on the Google Form platform. It consists of 20 items with three possible answers: correct, incorrect, I don't know and distributed in three blocks.
- Philosophy and principles of palliative care: questions 1,9,12 and 17.
- Pain and symptom control: questions 2,3,4,6,7,8,10,13,14,15,16,18 and 20.
- Spiritual and psychosocial care: questions 5,11 and 19.
Statistical software (SPSS) will be used for the statistical analysis of the variables.
