Cuidados en la prevención de la transmisión vertical del virus de la hepatitis B

Resumen. El Virus de la Hepatitis B (VHB) es un virus con unas probabilidades muy altas de causar cáncer de hígado. En la actualidad, no se dispone de tratamiento curativo, por lo que lo principal es evitar su contagio, siendo la transmisión vertical la más frecuente. Por ello, hay que tomar unas ciertas medidas preventivas en la gestación, para evitar que la mujer poseedora del virus no se lo contagie al feto.
Objetivo. Conocer las diferentes medidas de prevención de la transmisión del VHB en la gestación.
Metodología. Se realiza una búsqueda bibliográfica, en bases de datos internacionales e hispanoamericanas, en la que se obtienen inicialmente 1.215 artículos, que tras aplicarle filtro de años y seleccionar los que se ajustan a la temática, resultan ser 23 utilizados.
Conclusión. En la mujer gestante con hepatitis b se necesitan unos cuidados especiales, pues es fundamente prevenir la infección en el feto. Para ello, según el estado de enfermedad de la madre, se maneja la situación de diferentes maneras.
